The tunes were written over the last several years and put together for release in late 2022. Recorded in Seattle and Tucson, its an album of fresh material as well as a song written by Gordon Lightfoot (If You Could Read My Mind) my first song with a string quartet, one song written by Brewer & Shipley (One Toke Over The Line), and a Dylan classic, Don't Think Twice It's Alright. This album is a companion collection of songs to go with my book of the same name, available on Amazon.com Each original song represents a true story from my life.

Smoke Rings was most warmly received in Alberta, where it got high rotation on CKUA Radio, the province-wide public station. The amount of play it received raised interest enough that calls started coming in from clubs in Edmonton and Calgary, and soon a tour of western Canada was put together. The Midlife Chrysler Tour ‘99 played to full houses and was an enjoyable success. It was a watershed moment for me to play my own material and have it accepted with enthusiasm. Being on the road, meeting nice people and having them dig us, was a living dream to me. 

After Smoke Rings was released and the Midlife Chrysler Tour '99 was completed, I walked away from the music hustle and settled into a family life for many years of being daddy. As time went by I sort of forgot that there were other songs recorded in Paris for the Smoke Rings album. I stumbled on the lost stash of tunes one day while sorting

After Smoke Rings was released and the Midlife Chrysler Tour '99 was completed, I walked away from the music hustle and settled into a family life for many years of being daddy. As time went by I sort of forgot that there were other songs recorded in Paris for the Smoke Rings album. I stumbled on the lost stash of tunes one day while sorting through my stuff not long ago. I was pretty amazed at how good they sounded. I'm still not sure why I didn't put them on the original release of Smoke Rings. Oh well, time wounds all heels.
